Keep away from children, pets and flammable objects. Ensure there is adequate space around the candle to enable air flow and avoid items falling into the candle or catching alight. Do not burn for longer than 3-4 hours at a time. If the flame becomes large or unstable, extinguish the candle. Allow to cool, check for draughts, trim the wick to 3-5mm and relight. Never leave a burning candle unattended. When extinguishing the candle you can use a snuffer to avoid wax splashes. Take care when touching the candle container, it may get hot. How to Maximise Your Burn: The Kind Melts Coconut Wax Blend Difference Our dedication to a kinder home extends to our fragrance. Follow these tips to maximise the lifespan and fragrance of your Kind Melts candle: Trimming your wick will ensure you get the best and safest burn from your candle. Ensure that you trim the wick to 3-5mm before each time you burn it. You can do this with wick trimmers, clippers or simply pinch off the charred wick once the wax has reset. The wax pool should be kept free from debris, dust and wick trimmings before lighting. On first use allow the wax to burn to the edge of the container, this should take approximately 2 hours. Wax has a memory and can tunnel ( burn down the middle and not to the edges) if it is extinguished too early on the first burn. Do not burn for longer than 3-4 hours at a time even if there is a small area of wax at the edges of the container this will melt as the candle burns lower. The surface of the wax can discolour slightly and appear uneven after burning. This is normal and due to being a natural wax and wooden wick. Sit back, relax and indulge your senses with Kind Melts wooden wick candles. How to Store you Wooden Wick Candles. When your Kind Melts candle is not being used, store in a cool dry place. To keep your candle free from dust and debris cover it with a candle lid. This will ensure you get an optimum burn and fragrance throw. Troubleshooting, Top Tips. Candle won't light: Trim the wick to remove any charred wood. Hold the flame on the wooden wick for 10-15 seconds. Candle has tunneled: Ensure you allow your candle wax to melt across the whole surface of the candle on first use. ( No longer than 4 hours ) If you did not allow a full melt pool on first burn, then don't panic. Ensure the candle is cold and the wax has fully reset. Heat the top of the candle gently with a hairdryer on a LOW setting, ensure the hairdryer isn't too close to avoid wax splashing. Melt the entire top of the candle so that the tunnel is covered in a layer of wax. Allow the wax to fully reset before relighting. Reed diffusers work best when placed in an area of good air flow. Place your reed diffuser in an area in which people are passing throughout the day, this helps to circulate the air and diffuse the scent. Reed diffusers should not be placed directly on painted or polished surfaces as any spills may damage furnishings. How do I set up my reed diffuser? To prepare your reed diffuser remove the plastic stopper from the bottle and discard in the waste, replace the cap and insert reeds into the bottle. We recommend starting with 5 reeds and adding more if required. The more reeds you use the stronger the fragrance, small rooms may require less reeds. Kind Melts tin candles last approximately 28-30 hours, our larger container candles last approximately 40 hours. Many last longer than these timings, which is why we give an approximate length of time. How long can I burn my candle? Candles should be burnt no longer than 4 hours at a time, if left for much longer, not only will you shorten the life of your candle, but the container may become too hot and could in extreme cases crack. How do you trim the wick on a wood wick candle? After each burn, your scented candles wick will need to be trimmed to ensure a safe flame and best performance. To trim a wooden wick, you can use candle wick trimmers, clippers or simply pinch the charred wood from the wick. You must ensure the candle is free from debris before each burn. I didn't allow my candle to melt all the way on the first burn, how can I save my candle? Wax has a memory, so if you don't allow the candle to reach a full melt pool (melting across from edge to edge), then it may cause it to tunnel. Kind Melts candle will reach a full melt pool at around 2 hours, but if you do need to rectify a tunnelling candle, simply allow the wax to set, gently heat the top of the wax with a hairdryer, and once set, relight. (Ensure this is done very gently away from any furnishing and be careful of wax splattering).
