Wax Melts FAQ's
It will all make scents. Find out more about wax melts.

What are wax melts?

Wax melts are a great alternative to scented candles. They provide fragrance to your home or office by warming the wax in a wax melter / warmer, Once the wax melt is in liquid form it releases the scent into the room. You can turn off your warmer when your happy with the amount of fragrance in the room to save burning off the fragrance. The wax melt can then be used again until the fragrance its burnt off and it loses scent. Unlike scented candles, wax melts do not contain a wick, so there is no naked flame required to distribute the scent. Wax melts are also ideal as a scent sample to try out different fragrances before purchasing a candle.

How do you use wax melts?

To use wax melts place the single wax melt or section of a snap bar wax melt into the bowl of an electric or tea light wax warmer, this melts the wax and the fragrance is released. Kind Melts have a lower melting point than many waxes so fragrance begins to release quickly. Wax melts do not burn off like the wax of a candle, Once the wax melt loses fragrance you remove the wax melt from the warmer and dispose into the general rubbish before replacing with a new wax melt.

How do I change wax melts?

Once your wax melt scent has finished you will want to remove the wax melt from the warmer. The easiest way to remove the melt is to heat the wax slightly, by either turning on the electric warmer or lighting the tea light warmer for approximately 30 seconds. The wax should then easily slide out. Remember never to empty wax into sinks or drains but discard into your general rubbish.

Are wax melts safe around dogs and pets?

Wax melts or any scented product around pets should always be used with caution. As with humans pets can be allergic to any scented products. We recommend that you use fragrances products in a well ventilated area, if your pet shows any sign of a reaction discontinue use and consult your vet. If you are aware of any allergies for your pet ( or yourself ) check the CLP/Allergen information on the website which shows the fragrance ingredient/allergens if any. Always store fragranced products away from animals and children.

How long does the wax melts scent last?

With each wax melt shape the fragrance should last a minimum of 8 hours. The scent will start by being quite strong and gradually fade over time. Many customers have commented that they get much longer than 8 hours scent from the wax melts. Why does my wax melt have white patches?

Sometimes you will get a wax melt with white patches on. This is called frosting which natural waxes are prone to especially when using colour. It does not effect the fragrance or quality of the wax melt. In fact it shows that you're receiving a natural wax without additives such as paraffin.

How do I remove spilt wax?

If by chance you spill wax on furnishings or carpet then you can remove this in a number of ways. You should do this as soon as possible after the spill, remove as much wax as you can without rubbing. Place a clean tea towel over the wax spill and gently heat the patch with a hairdryer to soak the wax into the towel. Repeat as necessary. Alternatively place a bag of ice over the wax spill to harden the wax then scrape the excess wax off before following the step above. If you spill wax on your clothing, remove as above and then place in the washing machine.
